Spiritual Thinking is the ultimate way to overcome obstacles-2

Spiritual Thinking is the ultimate way to overcome obstacles-2

We all experience adversities one time or another in life. How can we go forward when we go through some of these. The Pandemic is a good example. However since everyone was affected by it, even though depressing, it was much easier to go through because a consoling factor was that others were also going through the same. However, when we as individuals go through some problems, it will hurt us much more deeply. During these times, we need God, Divine Mind’s help in seeing our way through. Spiritual Thinking is our synchronization of our human thoughts with the Divine Mind which resides in each of us all the time. Let us walk through some instances and see how spiritual thinking helps and is the ultimate way to overcome these.

Spiritual Thinking is the ultimate help to overcome addiction
When we think of addiction, we frequently think of addiction to drugs, alcohol, smoking, or prescription medicines. Less often, though not as bad or daily habits such as dieting, coffee, games, TV or several other things which by itself are not dangerous like the former nevertheless we are distracted by.
What is addiction? Addiction is something or an activity that we overindulge without being aware of and cause major or minor harm to ourselves or someone else. Whereas drinking coffee too many causes no harm to others, other addictions, such as drugs, etc, can cause serious harm to yourself or others. For example, if you overdose on drugs or alcohol or both, you may kill someone or yourself, either by driving o,r in the case of drug, sdyinge yourself, as the term implies. Addiction is something you have no control over and ,need some help dealing with it.
Let us see what causes addiction. When you try something for fun and like it, keep repeating it until the body cannot do without it. So you do more to the extent that it becomes harmful in one way or other. The body under normal conditions has no unusual desires. When you get excited about something naturally, your body generates more adrenaline, which is very good when you compete in a sport or a challenge such as a debate, etc. However, if you are bored and want some excitement through comradery or by yourself, you do drugs or drink. This creates an artificial mental excitement and you are tempted to do things that you would not normally do like speed driving or abuse someone. When you return to normal behavior and are sober, you regret what you had done.
havethe other hand, if you are thinking spiritually, that is thinking about all the wonderful and positive things around you, your mind is stimulated by all the wonders and the body generates another set of chemicals called β-endorphins and you feel enthusiastic and upbeat. Some early anti-inflammatories such as aspirin and paracetaminophen have a carbon framework like endorphins. These tend to calm the nerves, like positive thinking, and the neuro-transmitters do not pass the pain signals to the brain.
You must first know that you have a problem overcoming any addiction. Let me give you some examples of things that I go through sometimes. After my wife and daughter passed away, I kept myself occupied by solving some Sudoku puzzles. Sometimes I would get so engrossed in them that I would leave something to cook on the stove and forget about it. I would realize only when I smell something burning and then I would have to throw the meal away and order something from outside. I was bothered by it, and that is the first step. Then I was thinking about God and the Divine Mind, which is always perfect. Slowly over the next month or so, automatically, even if I am doing some Sudoku, I will remember that I have things on the stove and will prompt me at the right time to go and turn it off. Since I practice spiritual thinking all the time, I had a good connection between the human mind and the Divine Mind and will get the messages intuitively. Of course, this comes by constant affirmations and prayer, as I have alluded to before.
Because I have been practicing these for several years, my actions become intuitive once I realize a problem and correct it.
Getting to the addictions, is similar. Once you recognize that you have a problem, you sincerely seek help from the Divine Mind through prayers and affirmations of one reality, that God, Divine mind is, all in all, your, human mind starts to follow Divine Mind’s directions, and you will not crave anymore. Spiritual Thinking is the ultimate help in overcoming addiction. You will be healed in no time.
Spiritual thinking is the ultimate help to superior mental fitness

Isaiah 41:10
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

How appropriate at this moment? With the pandemic raging for two years and going, deranged leaders sowing dissensions, division and communalism, frequent lockdowns and shutdowns, and school children deprived of their necessary school social interactions, the world is suffering an enormous mental let down. Mental health and physical health professionals are busy worldwide trying to help normal human beings deal with this crisis.
Now will be an opportune time to look at the roots of what has created and caused our existence, the supreme power, God, Divine Mind, Brahman, and see how He can help. Since He is the cause and effect of everything in this universe, it will be wise to seek His help. He is present in each of us all the time, and if we have the humility to seek His help, He loves us so much that He will straighten all this mess in no time. We have discussed in previous posts how by synchronization of our human thoughts with the Divine Mind through affirmations and prayers, He will pass on on His directions to our human mind and also keep our human ego down, which is the cause of all this mess being manifested. I came across two articles on studies one in UK by the mental health foundation given below:
file:///C:/Users/sivra/AppData/Local/Temp/impact-spirituality.pdf
In the past decade, researchers across various disciplines have started to explore and acknowledge the positive contribution spirituality can make to mental health. In addition, service users and survivors have also identified the ways in which spiritual activity can contribute to mental health and wellbeing, mental illness and recovery.

And another, more recent one discussed in Wall Street Journal is given below:

The Mental-Health Benefits of Spiritual Thinking – WSJ
The Mental-Health Benefits of Spiritual Thinking
Spirituality can boost our mood and help protect against depression, says psychologist and author Lisa Miller.

Both studies show that spirituality helps both in the recovery and upkeep of mental health,

Knowing fully well that, spiritual thinking involving synchronization of the perfect Divine Mind and the human mind will heal all discord causing mental tensions and deviations, it is time that we all focus on spiritual thinking and get back to normal well being and mental fitness as soon as possible
Spiritual thinking is the ultimate help to superior mental fitness.

Spiritual Thinking is the Ultimate help to overcome Depression.

Deuteronomy 31:8
“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave or forsake you. Therefore, do not be afraid, do not be discouraged.”

John 16:33
I have told you these things so you may have peace in me. In this world, you will have trouble, But take heart! I have overcome the world.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for peace and not for evil, to give you a future and hope.

What is depression? It is a medical condition where a person gets into mood swings, feels dejected, loses hope, and is not easily motivated. The cause of depression, though not fully understood, can be triggered by several factors. Some common triggers are alcohol and drugs, family- if someone had depression, sudden loss of a job or death of a close one, certain medications, etc. Sometimes, depression leads to suicidal thinking and needs to be closely watched. There are several medications called anti-depressants that a doctor may prescribe. Depressions are often temporary but can last a long time in some patients. About 6-7 percent of American adults are diagnosed with depression. The current pandemic may have caused more people to have depression. Like any other condition, one needs to be aware of being in depression which would help in getting out of it.
As we had discussed in an earlier post on realities and unrealities, any disease or medical condition is an abnormality and since Divine Mind creates only normal healthy human beings. Any abnormality is an unreality manifested by a belief in something other than God. One of the difficulties in convincing people of Brahman or God is He cannot be seen. One of the Upanishads, “Isoupanishad” calls this Power God, Brahman, which cannot be seen but creates everything in this world that can be seen as” That”. “That” which cannot be seen creates everything that can be seen and felt by normal senses, such as touch, see, smell, etc as a “Phenomenon”. Another Upanishad, “Mundokaupanishad,” terms the entire life as a dream, an unreality, and the normal dreams we experience as a dream within a dream. I am mentioning these to point to the fact that depression is like a dream and it will be possible to wake up from that dream by understanding the truth of one reality, that God, Divine Mind is all in all, and by synchronizing the human mind, which causes all these abnormalities, with the Divine Mind by affirmations and prayer. In other words, by spiritual thinking. By constant practice, one can be free of all these abnormalities of disease, poverty, allergies, lack of sleep, etc., etc. Initially, people who have depression need to be helped by another person and the mind needs to fill with the truth about God, Divine Mind so that they will realize that Divine Mind’s help is right at hand and is available 24/7. This is the reason, spiritual thinking is the ultimate help in overcoming depression.

Spiritual Thinking is the answer to superior anger control.

James 1:19-20
My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry,
because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.

Ecclesiastes 7:9
Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools.

Proverbs 15:1
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs anger.

What is anger? It is an abnormal quality exhibited by someone who is driven by his human ego to say things or commit an act that a normal reasonable person will not indulge in. As we had discussed in a previous post on reality ( truth ) and unreality ( illusion ), any abnormal quality is manifested by a non-spiritual human mind-driven state and has no reality to it. It is a temporary manifestation of one’s wrong belief When the person calms down. He returns to his normal state. The danger in this temporary state is that it may harm someone through verbal insult or physical action. The impact of anger in several situations is covered in several articles. Some are produced below:

The effect on the immediate family is covered in this article:

https://aamft.org/Consumer_Updates/Effect_of_Anger_on_Families.aspx
“Anger may contribute to developing a host of unhealthy relationship patterns. If allowed to continue unchecked, angry outbursts and threatening behaviors tend to escalate. In relationships where rage-filled words and deeds overshadow calm, open dialogue, loving bonds among family members may be camouflaged by heavy layers of resentment.”

The effect on the workplace is discussed in the article below:
The Cost of Anger in the Workplace | JobCluster.com Blog
“The Cost of Anger in the Workplace”
“Do you work with angry people? Do you know why they are mad? Do you know how to deal with them?
The workplace is an environment likely to provoke feelings of anger and the consequences of poorly manages anger in the workplace can range from increased turnover and reduced productivity to property damage and physical injury or worse. At the same time, anger can be a positive and productive emotion producing valuable data and considerable motivation if managed effectively.”

The effect of anger on other people:

https://headspace.org.au/explore-topics/for-young-people/anger/

“Everyone feels angry sometimes. Anger becomes a problem when it begins to impact a person’s daily life and causes them to react in a way that might hurt themselves or those around them.”

Are there any positive effects of anger?:
GoodTherapy | The Value of Anger: 16 Reasons It’s Good to Get Angry
“The Value of Anger: 16 Reasons It’s Good to Get Angry
Anger is not just an aggressive reaction. It often provides us with inforhat allows us to engage better with the world around us (as well as ourselves). If we see anger as something that makes us more informed, we can adapt our response accordingly to better our position. To this end, the following is a list of benefits anger can provide when the appropriate level of the emotion is attained.”

While in some instances anger may be, positive. One example is when a baseball player misses a home run by a few feet. A college student was angry at himself for not acing an exam. These are positive emotions and help in improvement. In the vast majority of cases, anger is a negative quality.
Anger never contributes anything positive to anyone and is only detrimental. If the other person thinks spiritually, he can assess the situation and respond kindly which may help the situation and calm things down. If the other person also reacts in anger, then there may be a complicated situation. That is the reason it is essential to control anger.

If one were practicing spiritual thinking continuingly, then he will neither be angry nor will he provoke anyone to be angry. That is because, the Divine Mind, which is one Infinite Mind is also present in the other person and the communications will be controlled by the Divine Mind and hence there may be disagreements but no animosity. Hostility and animosity are the immediate effects of anger on people who are controlled by the human ego and the human mind. That is the reason Spiritual Thinking is the answer to superior anger control.

From birth until our last breath, a supreme power stays inside us, allowing us to breathe, making all the material organs work, and giving us the five senses to guide us. This power, called by various names such as God, brahman, Yahweh, Allah, Divine Mind, etc., is the engine of life. This Divine Mind can help us anytime we seek God’s help. The Divine Mind has all control over us, but we can only appeal to it through affirmations that God is all in all and is the Sole power for all cause and effect in this universe. He is present in us 24/7 by synchronizing our human thoughts with this Divine Mind. God passes on his thoughts to us. This synchronization becomes habitual through constant prayers and affirmations, and we enjoy Peace, Harmony, Prosperity, and Happiness. This is called Spiritual Thinking and is the backbone of peaceful bliss in our lives."
