Isaiah 11:9
“They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.”
When God, Divine Mind created the earth everything was planned perfectly. He created two species humans and animals, both of which would breathe in oxygen and would breathe out carbon dioxide. The third species, all the plants, trees, forests, will take the carbon dioxide and will give out oxygen. There was a perfect balance between the carbon dioxide produced and consumed. As man became more greedy, he not only multiplied without any knowledge of the balance but also consumed other natural resources such as coal, gas, and oil in such huge amounts that the carbon dioxide generated far exceeded the intake by plants, trees, and forests. It was further aggravated by even greedier industrial development and residential development by destroying forests. This not only disturbed the balance but also encroached on the lives of animals, insects, and other living species that depended on the forests for their natural existence. Does that mean that there should have been no progress? No! A little bit of understanding of the interplay of all the factors involved as God had planned and created would have been wiser. But the ego-based human mind and greed for wealth, would not even have any consideration for anything else. This has led to the current global climate and environmental crisis. Now that we know where we are, let us see how we will get innovative ideas and solutions for managing this crisis.
We all know that God, Divine Mind is very forgiving of our transgressions and ignorance. All we need to do is ask His forgiveness and realize His almighty power. Having acknowledged the reality of God as all-in-all, we can start moving forward. Now if our consciousness is filled with what we can do to cut down our contribution to managing the crisis by cutting our energy consumption and implementing a conservation program. This will be the first step. Just as an alcoholic has to admit that he is addicted to alcohol before he can recover from alcoholism. Likewise, after we complete the first step and start praying for ideas to implement at the personal and community level new ideas will come to mind. In my earlier post on Spiritual thinking in superior management,
once we seek God’s help, we will start getting a lot of ideas on how we can solve the environmental crisis. Already several highly intelligent scientists and intellectuals are working on various aspects of the problem, such as recycling plastics, using greener energies, Capturing excess carbon dioxide, and so on. With continued spiritual thinking we will be able to utilize God’s help in not only managing the crisis but also ensuring better living for future generations. Thus Spiritual Thinking is the ultimate answer to the environmental crisis.
