Spiritual Thinking is a great way to counter Poverty.

Spiritual Thinking is a great way to counter Poverty.

2 Corinthians 9:6-7
“The point is this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. You must give as you have decided, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Psalm 146:5-7
“Happy are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; who keeps faith forever; who executes justice for the oppressed; who gives food to the hungry.”

Luke 6:30-32/Matthew 5:42-43
“Give to everyone who begs from you, and if anyone takes away your goods, do not ask for them again. Do to others as you would have them do to you. ‘If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.”

1 John 3:17-18
“How does God’s love abide in anyone who has the world’s goods and sees a brother or sister in need yet refuses help? Little children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action.”
Deuteronomy 15:10-11
“Since there will never cease to be some in need on the earth, I therefore command you, ‘Open your hand to the poor and needy neighbor in your land.’”

Baghwad Gita
• The earth is the mother of all people and should have equal rights. …
• All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others. …
• We will never have true civilization until we have learned to recognize the rights of others.
One question frequently arises: If God is good, why do so many poor people exist in this world? People suffering through financial difficulties are made to believe that there is no God and that evildoers are the power, and only by bowing to them will our challenges go away. In today’s profit-oriented capitalistic system, society is deliberately divided into two groups, ‘the haves’ and ‘have-nots.’ God never discriminates, and whether you are rich or poor, God bestows the same love on everyone.
When God created man in His image and likeness, He also gave them the capacity to think. A large majority used this privilege to develop selfish qualities and decided to enrich themselves at other’s costs. This aggressive, ungodlike behavior resulted in the Rich becoming richer and poor people becoming poorer. This effect is not God’s creation but a pure function of human aggressiveness. This behavior enabled selfish people to go higher to feed their interests at the expense of others. Since God, the Divine Mind, is inside all of us, rich or poor, there is ample opportunity for poor people to seek God to advance themselves. The main difficulty then lies in the collective belief system dictating the policies of selfish elected leaders. Whereas benevolent policies of developed countries slowly eliminate this disparity, in backward cultures, there exists a large concentration of poor people. If each of us were practicing the principle, ‘Do unto others what you would have them do unto you,’ the extent of poverty could be significantly reduced. While helping a poor man is a temporary solution, like giving a fish to a hungry man, teaching Spiritual Thinking will enable the poor man to be independent and trust God, the Divine Mind, for all his needs. It is like showing a hungry man how to fish so that he can feed himself.
Spiritual Thinking involves the synchronization of our human brain-derived thoughts with the ever-present, Divine Mind inside each of us through affirmations, prayer, and meditation, as has been discussed in one of the very early posts:
Affirmations and prayer for Divine Mind Synchronization:

Affirmations and Prayer for Divine Mind SynchronizationAMP

When we synchronize our human thoughts with the Divine Mind, we can eliminate all distracting thoughts and fears and listen to God for his thoughts in any situation. God has infinite resources to help man and would readily provide ideas that we can use immediately in any dire situation. This is called ‘God’s law of adjustment’ and described in an article in the Journal of Christian Science by Adam H. Dickey in 1916. Adam Dickey was a personal assistant to Mary Baker Eddy, the founder, and Pastor of Christian Science:
https://journal.christianscience.com/issues/1916/1/33-10/god-s-law-of-adjustment
Dickey states, “There is a law of God that applies to every conceivable phase of human experience, and no situation or condition can present itself to mortal thought which can exist outside of the direct influence of this infinite law. The effect of the operation of law is always to correct and govern, to harmonize and adjust. Whatever is out of order or discordant can have no basic Principle of its own but must come under the direct government of God through what may be termed God’s law of adjustment. We are not responsible for carrying out this law. We can do nothing to increase, stimulate, or intensify the action or operation of the divine Mind since it is constantly present, always operative, and never ceases to assert and declare itself when rightly appealed to. All we have to do is scientifically bring this law of adjustment into contact with our unfinished problem, and when we have done this, we have performed our full duty.”
Thus, if a man is starving, he does not have to go and start begging, but know and pray that God, the Divine mind inside him, will meet his need if he would transcend his hunger and trust God. A solution will immediately appear to him. Spiritual Thinking is the way to hear God’s voice.
Most underdeveloped and developing countries have much poverty in their land. The politicians want to keep it that way by handing out benefits to them so that they kill any incentive the poor people may have to advance themselves, and the rich can get richer at the poor people’s cost. Instead, if they are taught to think spiritually and know that God, the Divine Mind inside them, can provide ideas for them to prosper, the whole country can benefit. This is especially true in countries like India, where poor people tend to follow what their parents do. If the parent is a cobble, the son will also be a cobbler instead of seeking education and knowledge. Another myth constantly promoted is a need for a “Guru” or teacher that you need to follow. Most of us have so many mentors who are our teachers, and very seldom do we achieve anything by ourselves as we constantly learn from one another. But people who are manipulators will continually keep suggesting that you get hold of a “guru” and start worshipping him rather than the Divine Mind inside us. A famous philosopher and disciple of Ramakrishna, Swami Vivekananda, does not ever talk about “guru Worship’. He always talked about being self-reliant and trusting God; you will be able to achieve anything you desire. If only these hindrances had disappeared and people had been taught to ‘think spiritually,’ poor people in these countries would have learned spiritual thinking and advanced themselves to their full potential. I hope God bestows some of His thoughts on politicians to make policies beneficial to the people rather than to be cronies of business crooks who control them to enrich themselves.
Thus, Spiritual Thinking is a great way to counter poverty.
