Spiritual Thinking is a great way to avoid unexpected shocks.

Spiritual Thinking is a great way to avoid unexpected shocks.

Romans 8:18

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory to be revealed to us. Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory He will reveal to us later.
Romans 8:28
And we know that for those who love God, all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Proverbs 19:21
Many are the plans in a man’s mind, but the purpose of the Lord will stand.
Acts 4:12
And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Bhagwat Gita:
• Bad situations come by not doing anything, but you have to take action to create a good situation.
• Change is a universal law; that’s why every happiness or sorrow is temporary.
• Keep your focus on your duty, not on the result.
• You become what you believe in yourself
• Cowardice and fear are the enemies of success
We all face unexpected adverse situations. That is part of life. But how we deal with it reflects us and our character. Let us start with some examples: Suppose we are flying in a plane and suddenly encounter severe turbulence. The pilot turns on the wear seat belt sign. Even though modern planes are toughly built to withstand extreme turbulence, we, as passengers, get scared. Significantly, what do we do when the plane drops down a thousand feet? Do we panic? Or are we calm and composed? It all depends on if you are an optimist or a pessimist. If you are an optimist, you will think everything will be fine. If you are a negative thinker, you are going to start thinking that you might die in a plane crash. The same is true in any uncertainties you encounter in life. That is why spiritual Thinking can help in these situations. In Spiritual Thinking, you start with a fundamental truth that God is all in all and is the cause and effect of everything that happens in the universe. Even weather patterns, a bridge collapsing, a thunderstorm or hurricane, etc, are all under the control of God, the Spirit. You experience unreal events because you believe in them, whether a fever, illness, or pain. All these are false manifestations because of your belief. If you know that nothing will happen to you until God decides that your purpose is accomplished and it is time for you to go and get ready for another assignment, depending on your performance in the current assignment. If you know this, you will stay calm and leave everything to God, the Divine Mind inside you. We fight it only because the human ego derived from the human brain tries to control everything, like trying to swim upstream in a strong current. Suppose you are a Spiritual Thinker. You will soar higher like an eagle during a storm. At the same time, I pointed to one example of flying in a plane. These kinds of shocks can happen in our daily lives. If you are walking on the streets in Manhattan, you may suddenly encounter a thug wanting to rob you. You may be hit or come close to being hit by a drunken driver, etc. By consistently practicing Spiritual Thinking, you will be able to manage any shocks by reacting calmly and spiritually. I remember a story I had read two decades ago about a violent convicted felon who escaped from prison, and the sheriffs were looking for him all over. Since it was nighttime and he was hungry, he got into an old couple’s home. They greeted him and fed him, and although they knew he was a felon, they never asked him anything and only played some hymns while he was eating. The felon reacted positively, left the old couple alone, and went his way while the couple told the Sheriff the direction he went in. They knew how to not endanger themselves with a felon with a double barrel gun. Let us take some stories from history of people saved through their faith:
Daniel and the Den of Lions:
Daniel was a Jewish young man who served as a high-ranking official in the king’s court, but his colleagues resented his success and favor before the king. So, it is recorded in Daniel 6 that they created a plot by which Daniel’s faith would land him in trouble with the law, resulting in his death. When Daniel was punished for praying to God by being thrown into a den of lions, God miraculously spared his life by shutting the mouths of the lions.
“So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions’ den. The king told Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!” A stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his signet ring and his nobles’ rings so that Daniel’s situation might not be changed. Then, the king returned to his palace and spent the night without eating or entertainment being brought to him. And he could not sleep. At the first light of dawn, the king got up and hurried to the lions’ den. When he came near the den, he called to Daniel angrily, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?” Daniel answered, “May the king live forever! My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, Your Majesty.” The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him because he trusted his God. At the king’s command, the men who had falsely accused Daniel were brought in and thrown into the lions’ den, along with their wives and children. Before they reached the floor of the den, the lions overpowered them and crushed all their bones. … “I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom, people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel. “For he is the living God, and he endures forever; his kingdom will not be destroyed, his dominion will never end.” (Daniel 6:6-24, 26)

Daniel 3: 6-25
King Nebuchadnezzar had a decree that the people could worship only the king’s golden statue. When the king learned that three Jewish youths, Shadrach, Meshak, and Abednego, were worshiping their Gods, he was furious and asked them to be thrown into a fiery furnace that was made seven times hotter than usual.
22 The king’s command was so urgent and the furnace so hot that the flames of the fire killed the soldiers who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, 23 and these three men, firmly tied, fell into the blazing furnace.
24 King Nebuchadnezzar leaped in amazement and asked his advisers, “Weren’t there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?”
They replied, “Certainly, Your Majesty.”
25 He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.”

Story of Jonah
Since the people were leading faithless lives, Jonah was a prophet assigned to travel to Nineveh to preach. Jonah was afraid that he would be killed. So he sailed on a ship going in the opposite direction. The boat ran into a severe storm, and the captain feared the ship would sink. Jonah confessed to the Captain that he did not want to go to Nineveh, and it was his curse that the boat was about to fall. The captain threw Jonah overboard; Jonah got swallowed by a large fish and vomited alive on an isolated land. The storm stopped, and Jonah learned his lesson, went to Nineveh, and preached there.
Thus, by synchronizing human thoughts with the divine mind inside us and through consistent practice, spiritual thinking enables us to deal with shocking adverse situations. Therefore, it is a simple way to handle unexpected shocks.

From birth until our last breath, a supreme power stays inside us, allowing us to breathe, making all the material organs work, and giving us the five senses to guide us. This power, called by various names such as God, brahman, Yahweh, Allah, Divine Mind, etc., is the engine of life. This Divine Mind can help us anytime we seek God’s help. The Divine Mind has all control over us, but we can only appeal to it through affirmations that God is all in all and is the Sole power for all cause and effect in this universe. He is present in us 24/7 by synchronizing our human thoughts with this Divine Mind. God passes on his thoughts to us. This synchronization becomes habitual through constant prayers and affirmations, and we enjoy Peace, Harmony, Prosperity, and Happiness. This is called Spiritual Thinking and is the backbone of peaceful bliss in our lives."
