Spiritual Thinking is a great way during global changes.

Spiritual Thinking is a great way during global changes.

With fast-changing circumstances in regional wars and technological and climate changes, adapting to these changes puts pressure and tensions on our beliefs and cultural patterns. Spiritual Thinking concentrates on our fundamental belief that God, The Divine Mind, and Brahman inside each of us is the engine of life, and the cause and effect of all changes helps us cope with all the transformations. Spiritual Thinking, by synchronization of our human thoughts with the Divine Mind, enables us to quickly adapt to all these changes, causing us less anxiety and allowing us to be calm and steady.

Spiritual Thinking is an excellent way to transition.

Deuteronomy 31:6
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave or forsake you.”

Isaiah 43:19
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

James 1:17
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”

Psalm 18:2
“The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”

2 Corinthians 4:16
“Therefore, we do not lose heart. Though outwardly, we are wasting away, inwardly, we are being renewed daily. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

Bhagwad Gita
“For one who has conquered his mind, a mind is best of friends, but for one who has failed to do so, a mind is the greatest enemy.”
2. “Happiness from the senses seems like nectar initially, but it is bitter as poison in the end.”
3. “Set thy heart upon thy work, but never on its reward.”
4. “He who is content with whatever comes, without attachment, not disappointed when he gets nothing, is wise.”
5. “Calmness, gentleness, silence, self-restraint, and purity are the disciplines of the mind.”
6. “As a strong wind sweeps away a boat on the water, even one of the roaming world of the senses on which the mind focuses can carry away a man’s intellect.”
7. “One who sees inaction in action, and action in inaction, is intelligent among men.”
8. “When meditation is mastered, the mind is unwavering like the flame of a lamp in a windless place.”
9. “There is neither this world nor the world beyond nor happiness for the one who doubts.”
10. “A person can rise through the efforts of his mind or draw himself down in the same manner. Because each person is his friend or enemy.”

While times change, people may change, relationships may change, climate and seasons may change, our power and status may change, and technologies change, one thing never changes. That is “ Truth” from the Divine Mind, God, Brahman, inside each of us.
Psalm 46:10
“Be still and know that I am God.”
At this time, there was significant upheaval throughout the world, with harsh and rough nationalism and competition. Artificial intelligence affects everybody’s life, global divisive elections, and ever-expanding regional conflicts and wars. We must focus on and hang on to something that gives us peace and harmony. All the disturbances in our thoughts come from all the illusions that appear so natural in our daily lives. Let us take, for instance, the campaign fever engulfing the US now. One side spews so many lies, falsehoods, and innuendos on the other side, and if we are not careful, they all might appear to be so real, and further, if people base their votes on such lies, we may elect an undeserving person, who cares, only for their cronies. In a true democracy, the people’s voice counts, and if illusions influence that voice, then we might as well not hold elections. Spiritual Thinking, by synchronization of our human thoughts with the Divine Mind, Brahman inside us always reveals the ‘Truth,’ and we can hear God’s Voice, which always clears the clutter on our human minds created by all the rubbish talk and propaganda. This will enable us to select the right person irrespective of all the trash talk they have heard.

I learned about the Divine Mind—Immortal Brahman inside us at 10-12 from Swami Sivananda Saraswati, whose mission is worldwide. Even then, Swamiji was in his seventies. Most of his visitors were from several countries worldwide, and one of his disciples, Swami Chinmayananda, started his mission, Chinmaya Mission, which has a dedicated channel on YouTube, to spread the truth. I had provided a picture of Swami Sivananda and his universal prayer, which I learned when I was about 10.

If I were to name one as my Guru among many, it would be Swamy Sivananda.

OM Shanti, Shanti, Shanti.
Life is a Pilgrimage.
Humility is not Cowardice.

Spiritual Thinking is a simple way to counter Demagogues.

Demagoguery Quotes ( https://www.azquotes.com/quotes/topics/demagoguery.html )

The demagogue preaches doctrines he knows to be untrue to men he knows to be idiots.
H. L. Mencken

Reason and truth rarely prevail against demagoguery when the audience is too ignorant to tell the difference.
Charley Reese

Exploiting people’s emotions of fear, envy, and anxiety is not hope; it’s not change; it’s partisanship. We don’t need partisanship or demagoguery; we need solutions.
Paul Ryan

If you look at the history of demagoguery and fascism, it always happens when there are two things. It requires a gentle populace to allow it to happen, whether through laziness, ignorance, or ineptitude. Still, it also requires a furious, dissatisfied section of the populace who want egregiously simple answers to complicated problems.
Moby

America has been a land of dreams—where the aspirations of people from countries cluttered with rich, cumbersome, aristocratic, ideological pasts can reach for what once seemed unattainable. Here, they have tried to make dreams come true. Yet now, we are threatened by a new and particularly American menace. It is not the menace of class war, ideology, poverty, disease, illiteracy, demagoguery, or tyranny, though these now plague most of the world. It is the menace of unreality.
Daniel J. Boorstin

Whether we admit it or not, the world is inundated with demagogues, though they will always be in the minority. When God created man in His image and likeness, He graciously granted man the power to think without unintended consequences. Many men will veer away from that image and follow a path of selfishness, lying and dishonesty, cheating others, developing an ego way beyond their capabilities and intellect, and a superiority complex over all the good and decent people. It happens because they do not have the intellect to excel in anything except cheating themselves and others, and they seldom have any compassion or empathy. If anyone excels and is intellectually superior, by God’s grace, then these people with low intellect to understand complex problems or have the intelligence to be innovative, these people, whom we call demagogues, try to start whining, crying Foul Foul! To take attention from them. Since there are so many innocent people who are lazy idiots, these demagogues look so intelligent to them because they feel that they are representing them. The buck does not stop there. They would use terms like Nationalism, Race, patriotism, etc, and start waving the flags as if they were the only patriotic people in this world. They will use every information to their advantage because they do not have any ideas. They do not sacrifice anything for the good of the community or country. If one were to develop a test to distinguish between humans and animals, they would score in the animal’s region rather than the human range. So, how do we deal with them when they are so grossly obnoxious?

Spiritual Thinking is the synchronization of our human thoughts with the Divine Mind, God, and Brahman inside us, resulting in precisely the behavior that God created man in. Since the God inside us is the only God and He is inside each of us, our collective thinking will always be harmonious. Everyone will agree on their disagreements and know that that is what makes Democracy work so wonderfully, without any discrimination based on race, color, or origin. We are tolerant of people’s misgivings and accommodate them and their thoughts. Collectively, people will not be divisive and tear each other apart. Even all the duds who are so insecure will start feeling secure and will not be as paranoid as under a demagogue. At this time of elections around the corner everywhere, let us pray that God will reign in everyone’s minds. We can find solutions for solving regional conflicts, wars, climate crises, energy crises, infrastructure management, civility towards each other, etc., and everyone, including the demagogues, be blessed so that they may feel secure and not cause continuing damage.
As I mentioned in my previous post, at an early age, I was fortunate to spend some time in Swamy Sivananda’s Ashram in the Himalayan town of Rishikesh on the banks of the River Ganges directly across from The Bhagwad Gita Bhavan where they would be chanting Bhagwad Gita 24 hours a day. Swamiji will hold the prayers several times a day. The exciting thing was that there were visitors worldwide, though Swamiji’s “Divine Life Society” exists in almost all countries, including his Asrams and schools. His Universal Prayer is linked below, especially at this time of upheaval everywhere, and a brief picture of His Ashram in Rishikesh.

Spiritual Thinking is a simple way to conquer materialism.

1 Timothy 6:7-8
We brought nothing into the world and can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.

Ecclesiastes 5:10
Whoever loves money never has enough;
Whoever loves wealth is always dissatisfied with their income.
This, too, is meaningless.

Matthew 6:19-20
Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

Mark 8:36
What good is it for someone to gain the whole world yet forfeit their soul?

Luke 12:15
Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life lacks an abundance of possessions.”

Hebrews 13:5
Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

2 Corinthians 4:18
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen but on what is unseen since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

1 Timothy 6:9
Those who want to get rich fall into temptation, a trap, and many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.

Bhagwad Gita Chapter 2:71
That individual attains perfect peace, gives up all material desires for a sense of gratification, and lives free from greed, proprietorship, and egoism.

In this wicked world of capitalism, everyone is caught up in materialism. With the technological progress in this electronic age, you want everything. If the neighbor has something you do not, you are restless until you go and get it. We need money for everything. To get money, you need a job. You submit yourself to a series of humiliations to get a job before someone hires you. Once hired, he would constantly remind you that you got the job because of him; he would soon start making inappropriate demands. If you are of the opposite sex, then it will be sexual. If you are colored, He will constantly behave like you are his slave. In addition, when he starts asking you to do some illegal or immoral acts on your job, like falsifying reports or submitting false expense reports that he can authorize, and when reimbursed, you turn over the money to him. If you leave disgusted and seek something consistent with your morals and values, companies will join hands to block you from getting another job. If you are colored, it gets even worse. If an external Human Resource personnel fids the truth and reports to the EEO Commission or other political authority, then, even without you doing anything, you will become a political football. No one will care about your plight except labeling you as a whistle-blower. You may not even know what whistle you blew. I have to admit that for the first ten years of my corporate life, I not only rose through the ranks like a rocket, but the nightmare started when an egoistic demagogue was brought in. Unfortunately, I had to report to him, and all the above happened. Every friend you had before runs from you even when you are a hundred feet away. All the people who used to kiss your behind when you were successful will start throwing insults at you and will spread false stories about you behind your back. Many of you would not have faced these situations before, but I have, and the only mistake was being brown and excelling in everything I did. All the above is my true story, and I will continue. When you have been cornered since I grew up and have been practicing to think spiritually, that is what I did best. Since I had no computers or smartphones in those days, when I had lost my home with a sick wife and two teenage daughters, I took all the spites and walked from one company to another, handing over my resume. When I had enough chance to make a phone call, I would call anyone who would answer and ask for help to get a job in my field at any level, even though I was way up the ladder when this happened. I did odd jobs for 18-20 hours daily to feed the family. But over several years, I will always fall behind on my rent or health care bill and will become homeless. I freely gave ideas to any companies since God always gave me abundant ideas, though very, very seldom did I get paid. Since I practiced Spiritual Thinking, I would always be able to feed my family and sustain myself. We could do this for almost 20 years until I was eligible for Social Security, which I availed of, and moved back to India, where that amount was enough to live comfortably. The point I am making is I did not have to resort to begging or suicide because the God, Divine Mind, Brahman inside me was always holding my hands as we were walking through murky waters. Let me make this clear. During tough times, if you are looking for millions of dollars in handouts, that will not happen. But as Jesus fed five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fish and had twelve baskets left over, Spiritual Thinking will extend what you have infinitely. This is similar to when the Kauravas wanted to Disrobe Draupadi, and she prayed to Lord Krishna, and the saree kept stretching until the Kauravas got tired. Another example was when Pandavas were in exile in the forest, a pot Krishna had given them called’Akshayapatra’ was always full of food no matter how much you will take out. So it is not the material possessions that count or how much greed you have, but how spiritual you are. Know that God’s divine mind inside you is the source of supply, not material possessions.
I have reproduced a story ( Author Not Known) called Footprints in the Sand:

Footprints in the Sand
One night, I dreamed of walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene, I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes, there were two sets of footprints,
Other times, there was one only.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life,
When I was suffering from anguish,
sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints,
So I said to the Lord,
“You promised me, Lord,
That if I followed you,
You would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life.
There has only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why have you not been there when I needed you most?”
The Lord replied,
“The years when you have seen only one set of footprints,
My child is when I carried you.”

Disrobing Draupadi:

Thus, spiritual Thinking is a simple way to conquer Materialism.

Spiritual thinking is an easy way to deal with extreme situations.

Psalm 46:1-2
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth will give way, and the mountains will fall into the heart of the sea.

2 Corinthians 4:8-9
We are hard-pressed on every side but not crushed, perplexed but not in despair, persecuted but not abandoned, struck down but not destroyed.

Psalm 91:2
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and fortress, my God, whom I trust.”

Isaiah 43:2
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

Nahum 1:7
The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.

John 16:33
“I have told you these things so you may have peace in me. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Nehemiah 8:10b
“Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

Psalm 32:7-8
You are my hiding place. You will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go. I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.

Joshua 1:9
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

2 Thessalonians 3:16
May the Lord give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.

Bhagwad Gita: Chapter 7
When situations are challenging, surrender to me; you will be protected.

We all may face extreme situations at one time or another. Many of them may be caused by nature, such as earthquakes, Tsunamis, wildfires, tornadoes, hurricanes, or wars. Sometimes less frequently, due to deliberate mischief by politicians or corporations. These happen because of their paranoid character, pure envy pr, jealousy, racism or dislike, etc. How do we deal with such calamities? The first thing we can remember is that God, Divine Mind, is right inside each of us, and He is as close to us as He can be, and no situation can be beyond His control since He is the cause and effect of everything in this universe. There was an article written in 1916 by Adam H Dickey called ‘God’s Law of Adjustment. My Dickey was the personal Assistant to Mary Baker Eddy, The Founder and Pastor of Christian Science Church and the author of “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.” Dickey writes :
“Man lives by divine decree. He is created, governed, supported, and controlled by the law of God. Law means or implies a rule established and maintained by power; that which possesses permanence and stability; that which is unchanging, unyielding, and continuous-“the same yesterday, today, and forever.”1 The efficiency of law rests entirely in the power that enforces it. A law (so-called) that is incapable of being enforced is not law and bears no relationship to law. God is the only creator, the only lawmaker. “He made all things; and without him was not anything made that was made.”2 All the universe’s power, action, intelligence, life, and government belong to God and have always belonged to Him. He is the Supreme Ruler and does not share His power with another.
When we understandly declare that the law of God is present and in operation, we have invoked or brought into action the whole law and the power of God. We have declared the truth, God’s truth, that the truth of God is the law of destruction, obliteration, and elimination of everything that is unlike Him. When we have stated this truth and applied it, as taught in Christian Science, to any discordant belief we are confronted with, we have done all we can. All that is necessary to destroy any manifestation of error that ever claimed to exist. Error, which has no place in the divine Mind, claims to exist in human thought. When we have put it out of human thought, we have driven it out of the only place where it ever pretended to have a foothold, and after that, it becomes nothing to us.
A law of God applies to every conceivable phase of human experience, and no situation or condition can present itself to mortal thought that can exist outside of the direct influence of this infinite law. The effect of the operation of law is always to correct and govern, to harmonize and adjust. Whatever is out of order or discordant can have no basic Principle of its own but must come under the direct government of God through what may be termed God’s law of adjustment. We are not responsible for carrying out this law. We can do nothing to increase, stimulate, or intensify the action or operation of the divine Mind since it is constantly present, consistently operative, and never ceases to assert and declare itself when rightly appealed to. All we have to do is scientifically bring this law of adjustment into contact with our unfinished problem, and when we have done this, we have performed our whole duty.”

When we become conscious of God being with us 24/7, driving the engine of life, and calming ourselves down in any critical situation, we immediately eliminate distracting thoughts. We begin to synchronize our panicked human mind with the Divine Mind and start hearing God’s advice, which is very quickly implementable, and we find ourselves freed from any danger. History is full of such freedom. Thus, when Moses was leading the Israelites from King Pharoah’s slavery and bondage, they were faced with the Red Sea ahead of them, and Pharoah’s soldiers were following them in their horses, and the people panicked. Moses was calm, and he prayed to God to open a pathway amid the Sea with a mighty wind so the Israelites could pass, but Pharoah’s soldiers all perished.

Daniel in the Lions’ Den (chapter 6 of the Book of Daniel) tells of how the biblical Daniel is saved from lions by the God of Israel “because I was found blameless before him” (Daniel 6:22).[2] It parallels and complements chapter 3, the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: each begins with the jealousy of non-Jews towards successful Jews and an imperial mandate requiring them to compromise their religion and concludes with divine deliverance and a king who confesses the greatness of the God of the Jews and issues a proclamation of royal protection.[3] The tales making up chapters 1–6 of Daniel date no earlier than the Hellenistic period (3rd to 2nd century and were probably originally independent, but were collected in the mid-2nd century BC and expanded shortly afterward with the visions of the later chapters to produce the modern book
Daniel in Lion’s Den:

According to 1 Samuel 17, Goliath, a heavily armed Philistine giant, challenged Saul for 40 days to send out a man to fight him. No one would face this warrior until David, armed only with a sling and stones, volunteered. David hit the giant in the forehead with a stone and killed him.

David and Goliath

Thus, when we think spiritually, we realize God is always present with us, holding our hands and seeing us to safety.

Dr.Siv Raghu grew up in New Delhi, india. He moved to USA in his early twenties, obtained his PhD in Chemistry. He worked for a Fortune 100 Corporation for 15 years and spent another 30 years in consulting, own businesses, banking and transportation in the US. He then returned to India, continued his Gnana Yoga for self realization, while studying Upanishads and Bhagwat Gita. Through these blogs he is sharing his knowledge and insights into how Spiritual thinking enables one to attain peace, harmony and happiness. He has just released a book on Amazon on : Think Spiritually, Spiritual Thinking For Life. https://www.amazon.com/author/sivaraman_raghu/ ." From birth until our last breath, a supreme power stays inside us, allowing us to breathe, making all the material organs work, and giving us the five senses to guide us. This power, called by various names such as God, brahman, Yahweh, Allah, Divine Mind, etc., is the engine of life. This Divine Mind can help us anytime we seek God’s help. The Divine Mind has all control over us, but we can only appeal to it through affirmations that God is all in all and is the Sole power for all cause and effect in this universe. He is present in us 24/7 by synchronizing our human thoughts with this Divine Mind. God passes on his thoughts to us. This synchronization becomes habitual through constant prayers and affirmations, and we enjoy Peace, Harmony, Prosperity, and Happiness. This is called Spiritual Thinking and is the backbone of peaceful bliss in our lives."
