Mary Baker Eddy, who was always interested in finding how Jesus could heal all the sick and sinners, in mid-life, after falling on ice, was immobilized, and doctors told their friends and relatives that she would not live. Friends and relatives had gathered at her home with Mrs. Eddy left alone upstairs to die. Mrs.Eddy was studying the bible and suddenly got up, full of energy, dressed, and came downstairs, wondering why they were all there. She was inspired from that moment to enlighten the world and started the Christian Science movement, and she wrote the book “ Science and Health with a Key to the Scriptures,” which she published in 1875. Since then, she built the Christian Science Church called the Mother Church in Boston, and Christian Science is practiced worldwide. Christian Science Practitioners heal people with all kinds of afflictions everywhere through prayers.
We had discussed in an earlier post about realities and illusions. The disease indicates the opposite of ease, the condition in which God’s Divine Mind created us all. So whenever we experience discomfort, uneasiness, or discordance, it will be abnormal and therefore cannot be accurate. Even if something is chronic or repetitive, it still cannot be accurate. Though the doctors might attribute some of these as hereditary, God, Divine Mind, will not accept such explanations.
We, including Doctors and other medical practitioners, know that unnecessary stress and worries cause the body to behave abnormally, resulting in some illnesses. Let us look at the opposite: If you enjoy peace and harmony at all times, then the body is calm and free from any tensions resulting in every God-created condition, free from any illnesses. Further, if you think positively, your body generates beta-endorphins, which you make joyful. Additionally, you are full of energy if you get enthusiastic, and the body causes adrenaline, which motivates you. You do not have to depend on external drugs for these effects because they happen naturally. These highs have no after-effects, such as hangovers after drinking or doing drugs. These do not abuse your body as the latter does.
Spiritual Thinking. Synchronizing our human thoughts with the ever-present Divine Mind has the same positive effects on the body. Further, this kind of divine thinking destroys all free radicals, like ant-oxidants, causing your body to feel fresher. We have discussed how to pre-stress and the harmful effects on the body through Spiritual Thinking, but what if you are already suffering from chronic illnesses? Remember Jesus healed a born blind person and another person waiting for the water to rise, repeatedly or 30+ years to be healed of some disease. Jesus was able to recover both in a matter of minutes. All may not be able to do what Jesus did, but we certainly can understand the principle behind how he was able to heal. So likewise, just for ourselves, we can practice Spiritual Thinking, acting in the image and likeness of God, the Divine Mind.
Suppose we can help people suffering from chronic diseases to practice Spiritual Thinking. In that case, l can arrest their illness’s further progression. Eventually, with patience and persistence, we will be able to reverse diseases such as Diabetes, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson, cardiac-related, arthritis, etc. There is everything to be gained and nothing to lose. Thus Spiritual Thinking will be an excellent way to chronic illnesses.
